Day 1: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Merzouga
Your journey begins with a pick-up from your riad or hotel in Fez at 7:30 am. From there, you'll head towards the Erg Chebbi Dunes in Merzouga, one of Morocco’s most iconic desert landscapes. The route takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you’ll stop in Ifrane, often referred to as "The Switzerland of Morocco" due to its alpine-style architecture and beautiful natural surroundings. As you continue, you’ll pass through Azrou, famous for its cedar forests and Barbary apes, and reach Midelt, a town offering panoramic views of the Ziz Valley. After a scenic drive, you’ll arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll enjoy a hearty dinner and a restful overnight stay at a local riad or hotel.
Day 2: Merzouga to Ouarzazate
Start your day early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara Desert. After the sunrise, embark on a camel trek back to your accommodation in Merzouga, where you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast. Following your break, begin the journey to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert. The drive offers opportunities for photo stops, and you will pause for lunch along the way (not included). Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, check into your hotel or riad, where you can relax and enjoy dinner while reflecting on the adventures of the day.
Day 3: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Tizi-n-Tichka - Marrakech
The final day of your journey begins with a visit to the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate, a key filming location for many Hollywood blockbusters. Afterward, proceed to Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its striking kasbah, which has appeared in several films. Explore this fortified village perched atop a hill, offering views over the Ounila River. Afterward, enjoy lunch in Telouet before visiting the impressive Kasbah of Telouet, a historic structure rich in cultural significance. As you continue your journey, cross the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, a high mountain pass that offers spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains and traditional Berber villages. Finally, arrive in Marrakech, where your Sahara tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or riad, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Morocco’s desert landscapes and cultural heritage.
