What a great experience! 1) Hot air balloon at sunrise, 2) a bath in the Cleopatra pools, 3) travertine pools that look like snow, 4) an adventure that started in the middle of the night, and 5) a road trip back to Antalya through stunning highlands. Ilayda, our tour guide, did a fantastic job managing our diverse group. Since the tour is sold on many platforms, the information and price weren’t the same for all of us, which required extra management from Ilayda. In the end, our family was very happy we followed her recommendation to tour the ancient city!

We booked the tour with the balloon ride. Summary: 4 hours of negligent driving, with the driver constantly looking at his phone and us sitting uncomfortably, even running red lights. The 30-minute balloon ride was very nice, but after that, we spent 1 hour in a sales store. Then we were informed we had to pay an additional 40€ for all further admissions or wait 3 hours. Many guests decided not to wait, so we asked to be taken back early. We were told we could only leave if we wrote a good review. After that, it was another 4-hour drive back.

I’m not sure about this tour. The balloon ride was fantastic, but everything else was a total waste of time. After the ride, you’re forced to spend around 4 hours doing not much and spend a lot of money in the process. You either sit outside Pamukkale in the sun for hours or pay €30 to walk around a heritage site that didn’t have much to offer. Plus, if you want to swim in the thermal baths, that’s an extra €10, and there’s no mention of this or locker fees in the information. The 3-hour stop at Pamukkale was way too long, and I felt like I wasted time after only an hour of walking around. The €10 entry fee was also not clearly explained, and I wouldn’t have booked if I’d known. There’s also no breakfast provided until lunch, which means waiting over 12 hours after being picked up at 1 am. Lastly, the transportation was fine, but the van’s brakes were terrible, which was unsettling on the 6-hour round trip. It took 5 hours to get back to my hotel, and the drop-off was delayed because they decided not to have two buses. I left the trip frustrated, feeling like I wasted €40 and an entire day of my holiday. If you’re not into heritage sites, I wouldn’t recommend this tour. If you just want the balloon ride, do it separately and head back to your hotel afterward.

This tour is a great day trip from Antalya, especially for those wanting to skip the time and hassle of flying to Denizli to see Pamukkale. Our guide, Gözde, was very professional and patient with us during each stop. I do wish we had 3 hours to explore Hierapolis, as 2 hours wasn’t enough to fully enjoy the white terraces and ancient pool. The air conditioning didn’t work in the morning, making it hard to sleep. The tour also lasted 16 hours, not the 10-12 hours mentioned, so it’s best to get plenty of rest before the trip. Lastly, adding trash cans in the vans would be helpful. Overall, we enjoyed the trip—thank you for a safe and fun experience!

We also paid extra to swim in the Cleopatra mineral pool, which was a highlight. The Roman theater was fascinating as well. However, the tour was marred by poor communication and unprofessionalism. We spent nearly an hour waiting in a gas station parking lot in the middle of the night, had to transfer vehicles multiple times, and were not informed that the restroom stop would be our last one until after the balloon ride. After the ride, we were taken to a sales presentation instead of breakfast, causing frustration among the group. The guides didn’t inform us that we couldn’t get a locker without them present, leading to stress about our belongings. Despite this, Suleiman, the local guide, did a great job explaining the history. The experience was memorable, but better communication and professionalism would have made it much more enjoyable.

I booked the Pamukkale Hot Air Balloon Flight with lunch and transfer for £225. Unfortunately, the balloons were absent, and I was taken to a remote location 5.5 hours away from Antalya. I was then asked to pay 30 euros for the journey to continue. I chose to leave the bus with other passengers and take a taxi home, which cost 260 euros. When I asked for a refund, they only offered a partial one. My day was wasted, and I felt stranded with no support.
