Marmaris is the place on earth where the sea is at your front door. The most popular and fun beach in central Marmaris is the Urban Beach and Long Beach (Uzunyali). There are enough things to do by the beach, from scenic walks on the car-free promenade to delicious Turkish food to eat, shopping or simply relax and read a book with the sound of the waves in the background. Ciftlik Beach
The large sandy coast of Çiftlik Bay attracts a lot of attention. There are not many beaches as beautiful as this one in the area. Besides, the sea is always crystal clear. There are a few hotels and harbour restaurants in the bay. There is also a small island that is privately owned and cannot be entered without permission. You can enjoy diving and snorkeling and underwater you can see thousands of colors.
Turunc Beach
Turunç has a bright blue color and calm sea and can be reached within half an hour if you use the asphalt road. Turunç is surrounded by high hills and planted with pine trees. Pomegranates, mulberry trees, figs, plums, carob, Geraniums, oleanders, and bougainvillea are everywhere. There are several excursions available for those who want to go hiking, canoeing, canon climbing, mountain climbing, sailing, and windsurfing.
Kumlubuk Beach
Kumlubuk is located a little further than Turunç and is famous for its restaurants and sandy beaches. Make time for a morning or evening walk to the old city of Amos. Amos can be reached within an hour from Turunç and within half an hour from Kumlubuk. The remains of the ancient city wall and the theatre can still be found and the Necropolis is located next to the slope of the bay.
Cleopatra Island
In many places, on Anatolian coasts, legends and names are related to Cleopatra. It is known that the Queen and her lover, the Roman warlord Antony, visited the Anatolian coasts. Cleopatra Island has a legend that is related to the golden and yellowish sand. There is said that the sand had been removed from Egypt by ship for a meeting of Cleopatra and Antony on the Island. Cleopatra Beach attracts attention with its golden sand and the turquoise color of the sea.
