As a solo female traveler with just one full day in Marrakech, I decided to book a guide for 6 hours to navigate the city without getting lost. The guide spoke excellent German, answered all my questions, and explained various cultural aspects in great detail while doing his best to tailor the tour to my preferences. We maintained a brisk pace, which suited the itinerary perfectly. While the typical tourist hotspots felt a bit underwhelming, I found the hidden local streets and markets to be far more fascinating. I would gladly book this experience again!

Abdul guided me through all the top spots in the Medina over six hours, sharing plenty of background information along the way. He was very flexible, allowing me to adjust the itinerary as I wished. One tip if you're planning to book: if you want to visit the souks (highly recommended), avoid booking on a Friday, as many places, especially those with traditional cottage industries where handmade items are crafted, are closed. Highly recommended—though I believe the experience can vary depending on the guide. I was fortunate to have Abdul!

Instead, the guide took us to specific locations in the souk for product demonstrations, seemingly prioritizing sales over our interests. This resulted in skipping significant sites, like palaces, due to time constraints or rushing through them because too much time was spent in areas lacking tourist appeal. For a paid, customizable experience, this approach was disappointing and could be improved significantly.

While one stop is fine, visiting multiple places like a woodworker, an argan maker, and a clothes manufacturer felt excessive. A little less product placement would have improved the experience.

Far too expensive and not worth it—a complete tourist trap! Instead of focusing on teaching us about the habits and customs of Marrakech, the private guide took us to shops to buy things. The only meaningful part of the tour was the visit to the Koranic school museum, which required an additional fee. Apart from that, the guide provided little value. Very disappointing!
