Overview

This exciting day trip from Sharm el-Sheikh takes you to Luxor, a city that was once the capital of ancient Egypt and is home to some of the world’s most significant archaeological treasures. With a convenient flight from Sharm el-Sheikh, you’ll arrive in Luxor refreshed and ready for an action-packed adventure. The tour is designed to maximize your time exploring the wonders of the Valley of the Kings, the Karnak Temple, and the legendary Tutankhamun Tomb, all while keeping your comfort and convenience in mind. From the moment you step onto the plane, you are one step closer to experiencing the magic of Egypt's ancient past.

One of the key highlights of this trip is a visit to the famous Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of pharaohs like Ramses II, Thutmose III, and Tutankhamun were discovered. This sprawling valley, located on the West Bank of the Nile, is an awe-inspiring testament to Egypt’s glorious past. As you explore the richly adorned tombs, you’ll gain fascinating insights into the life and afterlife beliefs of ancient Egyptians. Don’t forget your camera – the vivid paintings and intricate carvings within these ancient walls are mesmerizing.

Next, you’ll visit the Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest religious sites ever constructed. Walking through its vast courtyards and towering obelisks, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time to the era of the Pharaohs. The Great Hypostyle Hall, with its towering columns, is a must-see, and the Temple of Amun-Re, the largest in the complex, stands as a tribute to one of Egypt's most powerful gods. With the expert guidance of your tour leader, you’ll learn about the rich history of this incredible site, ensuring a deep understanding of its cultural significance.

No visit to Luxor is complete without a trip to the tomb of the famous boy king, Tutankhamun. Known worldwide for the discovery of his nearly intact tomb by Howard Carter in 1922, this site has captivated historians and archaeologists for decades. Inside the tomb, you’ll see some of the most incredible artifacts ever discovered, including the iconic golden death mask of Tutankhamun. The tomb itself is relatively small but filled with treasures and intricately painted walls depicting the king’s journey to the afterlife.

We had a wonderful day, and Tarek, our French-speaking guide, was fantastic ????. I highly recommend this tour, and the meal was absolutely delicious!

My partner and I absolutely loved this trip! Despite a little initial confusion about the confirmation for our desired date, the experience turned into the day of a lifetime. From the very start, we were taken care of, including assistance with getting our visas at the airport. Once in Luxor, we joined a small, personal group and met our incredible guide, Aziz. His vast knowledge of Egyptology, the local area, and the community added so much depth to the experience. Aziz was calm, kind, and exceptionally skilled at teaching us about the sites, all while allowing plenty of time for us to explore on our own. He even helped group members get the best deals when purchasing items. Thanks to Aziz, we created memories that will last a lifetime, and we cannot thank him enough. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, my experience with this trip was disappointing. While the guide was great, I had already paid for the entrance fees, yet I was required to pay them again at the location, bringing my total expenses to 600 euros. To make matters worse, the airport assistant who was supposed to help with boarding never showed up. The lunch experience was equally unpleasant—served in a terrible restaurant located in a creepy area that felt completely unsafe, with insects everywhere. This tour did not meet expectations, and I cannot recommend it.

The excursion was well worth the price, with fascinating destinations and impeccable service throughout. Our guide, Ragab, was exceptionally friendly and professional, and the drivers were prompt, attentive, and precise, ensuring a smooth experience. The restaurant was decent for a quick refreshment stop, but there were a few areas for improvement. The pre-trip instructions were inaccurate, with incorrect details about the traveler’s name, arrival location, and departure time, causing confusion and concern. Additionally, there was a lack of clarity about whether a visa was required to visit Luxor, leading to unnecessary stress. Finally, the long wait at the airport for the return flight (from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm) could have been avoided with better planning to fill the day more completely. Overall, it was a great experience with room for minor organizational improvements. Highly recommended, with these considerations in mind!

We absolutely loved Luxor, and the early morning wake-up call was more than worth it for the incredible wonders we experienced. Our Italian guide, Giuseppe, was fantastic—he took excellent care of us with patience, kindness, and attentiveness, ensuring all our needs were met. His thorough answers to our many questions enriched the experience even further. Giuseppe made the trip unforgettable, and we will always remember him!

The tour itself was fantastic, with a knowledgeable, funny, and patient guide who provided detailed information about each site while allowing us the freedom to explore without being caught in crowds. The new van, equipped with USB-C ports, was a thoughtful touch that enhanced the experience. However, the organization of the flight tickets by the company was a complete nightmare. Communication was scattered across email, WhatsApp, and GetYourGuide, leading to confusion. Despite initial assurances, they couldn’t secure flights for our original date and offered alternatives for the day before or after, forcing us to rearrange other plans on just 12 hours' notice, switch departure cities from Sharm El Sheikh to Cairo, and pay an additional $500. Then, at the last minute, they informed us that the original date was available, requiring us to undo all the changes. At the airport, we had no clear flight or airline details—just a time. We had to guess the airline, use a QR code from GetYourGuide, and eventually check in. Thankfully, we secured return boarding passes in advance, avoiding further chaos. While the tour itself was excellent, the disorganization around the logistics left much to be desired.

Luxor is stunning and absolutely worth a day trip to explore its incredible history and beauty. However, be prepared for additional costs for extras along the way, which can add up. One downside was the 4-hour wait at the airport on the way back, which felt unnecessarily long. Despite that, the experience in Luxor itself made the trip worthwhile.

A fantastic experience! Everything was well-organized, including hotel pick-up, airport transfers, meals, site visits, museum tickets, and a personal driver. The flight tickets were conveniently delivered to us directly at the airport in Sharm. Upon arriving in Luxor, we were warmly greeted by our driver (whose name I unfortunately can’t recall) and our guide, Rahab (I hope I spelled it correctly). Rahab was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, enhancing every part of the experience. After the scheduled visits, we were taken to shops selling perfumes and alabaster objects. While this stop wasn’t requested, the sales approach was not overly pushy, and it seemed like a way to support local artisans and businesses—something I didn’t mind. I highly recommend this activity to everyone, even though it’s a bit demanding with an early wake-up and a full day of travel. The unique and unforgettable experiences in Luxor make it absolutely worth it!

Our guide in Luxor, Ahmed Samir, was incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment we picked him up at the airport. He was very friendly and provided excellent explanations of the various sites we visited, all in fluent Italian. The buffet lunch was also delightful, served in an excellent restaurant. While it was a long and demanding day, it was absolutely worth the effort for such an enriching and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

The day felt rushed, with activities crammed into a tight schedule, only to be followed by a three-and-a-half-hour wait at the airport to return to Sharm. Despite this, time was allocated for a stop at an alabaster shop where there was considerable pressure to make purchases. The overall experience could have been much better with more balanced pacing and less focus on unnecessary shopping stops.
