Explore the beauty of Sapadere Canyon near Alanya, with crystal-clear waters, dramatic cliffs, and lush greenery. A perfect blend of adventure and relaxation for nature lovers.
Alanya Sapadere Canyon Tour is a great way to explore one of the natural wonders of our local countryside. Formed thousands of years ago by glacial movements, the canyon is a melting pot of natural wildlife, flaura and fauna. This beauty spot has to be seen to be believed. With over 300 metres of wooden pathways constructed right in the heart of the canyon, you’ll be able to get close up, touch and feel the power of the water at one of the many waterfalls in the canyon. Bring a camera for this nature trail like no other.
We’ll begin the day with a drive of about 40km out of Alanya town through Gazipasa, Mersin and Demirtas until we reach the village of Sapadere. This untouched spot is full of original flora and fauna and is the pride of the Alanya countryside. The local lifestyle here is very sedate. Farmers tend to their livestock and the pace of life is a lot slower than in the city. One of the local trades is silk. This is because the vast amount of Mulberry trees in the area attracts silk worms. You can observe silk production during our time in Sapadere.
About 3km outside of Sapadere is the famous canyon (Sapadere Canyon). 750 metres long and 400 metres high this natural site of beauty is a stunning example of glacial erosion from the ice age. Guests can take advantage of the wooden walkways that have been built to explore right into the centre of the canyon. Home to numerous bird species and local wildlife the canyon is almost like walking into another world. The spray of one of the numerous waterfalls will cool you down and there is even an opportunity to take a dip in one of the calming pools. As we are up in the mountains the water here rarely gets above 12 degrees which is welcome relief from the summer heat.
As well as the numerous water falls we’ll also explore local caves such as the famous Dwarves cave which has stalactites and stalacmites of over 170 metres in length.
Following this beautiful, natural experience it is time for the group to enjoy a local lunch of fish and chicken as we rest under the shade of the trees, all of which is included in your ticket price. A perfect way to end the experience before we journey back to Alanya.
