The Alanya Sapadere Canyon Tour offers a fantastic opportunity to explore one of the natural wonders of the region. Formed thousands of years ago by glacial movements, the canyon is a stunning blend of unique wildlife, flora, and fauna. This hidden gem is a must-see, and words can hardly capture its breathtaking beauty. With over 300 meters of wooden walkways winding through the heart of the canyon, you’ll be able to get up close to the powerful waterfalls and experience the canyon’s natural energy. Don’t forget to bring a camera—this nature trail is unlike any other!
We’ll begin the day with a scenic drive, traveling about 40 km from Alanya through Gazipaşa, Mersin, and Demirtaş, before reaching the village of Sapadere. This peaceful, untouched area is home to diverse, original flora and fauna, and is the pride of Alanya’s countryside. Life here moves at a slower pace, with local farmers tending to their livestock. One of the area's notable industries is silk production, thanks to the abundance of mulberry trees, which attract silkworms. During your time in Sapadere, you’ll have the chance to observe the fascinating process of silk production.
Around 3 km outside of Sapadere, you'll reach the famous Sapadere Canyon. Stretching 750 meters long and rising 400 meters high, this remarkable natural wonder showcases the power of glacial erosion from the Ice Age. The wooden pathways that have been carefully constructed allow you to explore deep into the heart of the canyon, providing unparalleled views of the area. The canyon is teeming with local wildlife and bird species, making it feel like a journey into another world. The cool mist from the waterfalls offers a refreshing respite, and you may even have the opportunity to dip your toes into the soothing pools. As we are high in the mountains, the water here stays around 12°C year-round, offering a welcome escape from the summer heat.
In addition to the stunning waterfalls, we’ll also visit the famous Dwarves Cave, a fascinating natural site filled with stalactites and stalagmites that stretch over 170 meters. This cave is a true testament to the geological wonders of the region and adds a thrilling touch to your adventure.
After this extraordinary natural experience, we’ll enjoy a delicious local lunch, featuring freshly grilled fish and chicken, served under the shade of the trees. This meal, included in the tour price, is the perfect way to relax and recharge before we make our way back to Alanya, filled with unforgettable memories of the day.
