Even though it was winter, Johnny Cash and his team took us to some breathtaking spots near Side. Our group was small, just six guests and three team members, which made for an intimate experience. However, the three of us mostly kept to ourselves and were simply guided from one place to another. One downside was that I had booked the tour in German, but it was conducted in English. Unfortunately, my son couldn’t understand much, which was disappointing. Clear communication about language options would have been helpful. That being said, the trip was still enjoyable, and I can imagine it being even better in the summer. The jeep ride was a highlight—exciting and a great way to explore the area. The tour was so much fun—drivers and the tour guide were excellent, and the boat trip was beautiful. I loved the opportunity to swim three times in the very chilly Green Lake. A tip: skip the water stop at the cafeteria for snacks—it’s much better to swim later when you get to the restaurant for lunch. The boat tour also offers about 20-30 minutes of swimming, which is plenty. This tour is definitely worth it, and the whole family had an amazing time. Highly recommended!

There are plenty of stops along the way to grab drinks, but I’d also suggest bringing your own water. One thing to keep in mind is that you need a cloth to cover your mouth and nose because it gets really dusty on the ride. We ended up buying one on-site for €5 each. A few more photo stops, especially on the way back, would have been nice. Also, the tour lasted 6 hours instead of 8, but we were still very satisfied with the experience.
