I even discovered a family connection to a fallen soldier, which made it even more profound. The visit to Troy was equally amazing, with its many layers of history stacked upon each other. Our guide’s passion for Troy was undeniable, and it enriched the experience immensely. One area for improvement would be the lunch stop on the way; with so many tourists visiting daily, better accommodations for English (and other language) speakers would be helpful. While the photos of food helped, there was still confusion about what we were ordering. One enterprising young traveler even resorted to Google Translate! There was a small mix-up as I initially thought the Museum of Troy was included based on the description, but it turned out that GetYourGuide had listed the details of an inactive experience. However, they went above and beyond to honor the mistaken description, arranging for someone to take me to the museum and even covering the entry fee—such great service! The ANZAC tour and the tour of Troy’s archaeological remains were absolutely incredible. There was so much more to see at the Troy site than I expected, and it was fascinating! The town we stayed in overnight was adorable, and the hotel, Kale 17, was brand new, centrally located, and very nice. The entire tour was vegetarian-friendly, which was a big plus for me.
