The experience was disappointing due to pouring rain and unsafe conditions. The tour should have been canceled as it wasn’t safe, but we still drove three hours only to find the wadi closed. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to experience anything and were not offered any refund.

This trip is inherently risky! The mountain paths are slippery, no matter the type of footwear you have. The "swimming" segment is even more hazardous—you’re expected to climb over slick rocks and descend into pools without knowing where submerged rocks are located. The slippery rock edges make it incredibly challenging to avoid injury. I personally fell four times and lost my glasses, though thankfully I wasn’t seriously hurt. However, I noticed others who were less fortunate. As an older individual accustomed to tough terrains, even I found this extremely difficult to navigate safely.

I strongly advise against doing this tour during the summer—it may be enjoyable in winter, but the heat makes it unbearable and even dangerous in summer. I experienced symptoms of heat stroke and had to take frequent breaks, which left me feeling very unsafe. While the Bimmah Sinkhole was a highlight and quite relaxing, the hike to Wadi Shab was grueling, lasting almost 1.5 hours each way over uneven terrain. The guide was helpful and did his best, but understandably couldn’t wait for those struggling, as he had to keep pace with the group. However, the lack of preparation and equipment provided for such extreme conditions is concerning. I was shocked that Wadi Shab remains open to tourists in this weather. It’s worth noting that you don’t need to hike all the way to the end—there’s a beautiful river about 30 minutes in that is even better. Overall, this was a frightening experience due to the heat and hiking, and I urge others to avoid it in the summer months. The Bimmah Sinkhole was the only redeeming part of the trip.

Overall, my experience fell short of expectations. While the minibus was punctual and we had a convenient snack stop en route to Wadi Shab, the 45-minute trek to the sinkhole was quite demanding due to the intense heat and rocky terrain (sturdy footwear is a must). Renting life jackets for 1 riyal was simple enough, but the sinkhole itself didn’t live up to the photos—it seemed less pristine and was quite busy, with a lively atmosphere dominated by large groups of Indian tourists. The return hike under the blazing sun felt particularly grueling. Lunch at a local restaurant was basic, consisting of pre-portioned servings of lemon-mint juice, Bukhara rice, grilled chicken, paratha, and dal. The final sinkhole visit was self-guided and located just 100 meters from the gate, but it was also crowded and underwhelming. By the end of the tour, I was eager to return to my hotel.

This was truly one of the most stunning natural sites I’ve ever visited! Our guides, Rashid and Mahmoud, were friendly, well-organized, and ensured we were prepared by offering opportunities to purchase essentials like swim shoes. Wadi Shab’s beauty is breathtaking. Do note, you’ll need to be a confident swimmer as some areas are 8 meters deep, but if you can swim 20 meters unassisted, you’ll be fine. The rocks can be quite slippery, so take your time navigating them. The guides were incredibly supportive, with Mahmoud going the extra mile to help everyone and even capturing great photos for us!

We started with a quick stop at the sinkhole for photos, and if you have more time, you can also swim there. Then we headed to the Wadi. The first 45 minutes were spent walking on dry land, and then, for those up for a swim, we continued for about an hour via the waterway. There was quite a bit of swimming, so if you're not very confident in the water or prefer to take photos and videos at your own pace, I’d recommend renting a life vest. The experience was fantastic, and even though one of our group members wasn't a strong swimmer, she still had a great time with the life vest. At the end, we reached a cave with a beautiful waterfall. The lunch was decent but not exceptional. We returned around 4:30 pm. It was a great day out and a unique activity!

Wadi Shab itself was breathtaking, and my husband and I loved every moment of it. We couldn’t stop admiring the canyons and caves. At the end of the trail, there’s a cave where you can climb a rope to reach a cliff jump into the water. My husband climbed the rope, and Abdullah quickly followed, guiding him safely through to the other side where the jump was (which, by the way, was apparently quite challenging!). We traveled as a group of four and were picked up from the hotel. The driver was early, arriving at 7:40 AM for our 8:00 AM departure. It’s a great idea to leave early, as it gets busy later. Jamal, our guide, was incredibly fit, spoke excellent English, and led us at a fast pace to the top of the Wadi, getting ahead of the crowds. He was a fantastic guide. Make sure to wear your swimwear (a bikini is fine) and leave your clothes by the pool for the last part of the climb and swim through to the final caves. Afterward, you can put your clothes back over your wet swimwear, so fast-drying sportswear is ideal. The facilities are clean and free to use at the car park. The Wadi is stunning, but it’s important to be fairly fit and enjoy swimming. We swam about 1.2 km, so it’s not much fun if you’re not a fan of water. For the more adventurous and strong, with a good guide, you can climb to an even higher level and jump down! Jamal was the best and made this a memorable and amazing day.

The tour was amazing! Everything was exactly as described on the website. The driver arrived on time with a comfortable Toyota Hiace, and the AC was on throughout the trip. We were provided with fruits, unlimited cold water, ice cream, and a delicious lunch. The service was top-notch and definitely worth the cost of the trip. Our guide, Abdullah, was friendly and knowledgeable, explaining the origins of the valley and the precautionary measures along the river. The nature was absolutely spectacular. We first hiked along the river up to the cave, swam a bit deeper, and found ourselves in the cave, where we had a great time. We even jumped off a 5-meter cliff into the deep water. The cave and waterfall were stunning and refreshing, especially on a hot afternoon. Finally, we visited the Sinkhole, which was also worth seeing. Overall, I highly recommend this tour—11/10. We had a lovely day in the Wadi with Abdullah. The scenery was incredible, and swimming in the mountain pools was such a refreshing experience. Abdullah was fantastic—very helpful and attentive throughout the day. Although it was very hot, there was plenty of water and snacks provided, along with a full lunch after the hike. I would definitely recommend this tour, but keep in mind that you need to be reasonably fit and comfortable swimming in deep water, as swimming is necessary to reach the end!

This excursion is definitely worth it. We were picked up directly from the hotel, and were given water, watermelon as a snack, and a delicious lunch with vegetarian options. Swimming shoes and waterproof phone bags were provided if needed. Our guide, Abdulrahman, was fantastic—he led us and swam with us through Wadi Shab. I highly recommend this trip!

The tour with Aziz through Wadi Shab and to the sinkhole was fantastic. I did the tour alone with Aziz, and communication before the tour was clear and precise. Overall, it was a wonderful day. Wadi Shab is a truly special and breathtaking place. Aziz is very knowledgeable about all of Oman’s natural sights and was happy to share many great recommendations. He’s communicative, friendly, and very relaxed. I 100% recommend this tour!

Wadi Shab was one of my favorite experiences in Oman. Before going, I read different reviews and was a bit worried about the hike. However, with a good pair of hiking shoes and careful walking, everything went smoothly. Swimming in the pools was an amazing experience. Be sure to bring water shoes, but if you don’t have them, you can buy a pair at a gas station stop before Wadi Shab. Our guide, Abdullah, was fantastic and very helpful. Overall, it was a great trip!

The activity exceeded all expectations! The walk to the Wadi was unbelievably beautiful, and the lagoons were absolutely breathtaking. Our guide, Abdulrahman, was brilliant, providing support to the entire group throughout the journey. He was especially helpful with the two younger children in the group, assisting them over tricky parts and showing them how to safely jump off the rocks into the lagoon. This is definitely a must-do activity, worth every penny!

The tour to Wadi Shab was incredible. Our guide, Muhannad, was fantastic—helpful, friendly, and guided us expertly through the hike and swimming in Wadi Shab. We drove through scenic views for about 2 hours, then took a short boat ride followed by a 40-minute hike. After swimming at Wadi Shab, we enjoyed lunch with the group and then visited and swam in the Bimmah Sinkhole. This was one of the best experiences I've had in Oman. Highly recommended!

This was an incredible experience! Mohammed was an outstanding tour guide. He shared so much information and made sure we knew exactly what to expect during the hike to Wadi Shab. He ensured my group was comfortable and safe at all times. Whatever we needed—whether it was food, water, an ATM, life jackets, or anything else—he made sure we had it. He remembered everyone's names with ease and kept the conversation fun. It was clear that he truly loves his job! There's nothing better than stepping out of your comfort zone with someone who is not only friendly but also confident! This was probably the most organized tour I've ever booked. As someone who usually travels solo on group tours, this was a very pleasant surprise. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
