I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience truly deserves one. During my long layover in Istanbul, I found this workshop to be the perfect way to spend a few hours. Esra’s hospitality and the calming atmosphere created a therapeutic escape. The wide variety of options for painting and the care Esra puts into her work are evident. I especially appreciated the option to have my piece shipped, which was so convenient given my travel schedule. Highly recommended—just book it, and you’ll see why! ????

Esra is a fantastic ceramic painting instructor! She had beautifully pre-sketched plates ready for us to paint, and she guided us patiently through different techniques, making the process both fun and educational. We also enjoyed some delicious Turkish tea and lokum in her stunning atelier, which is in an amazing location. One thing to note is that firing the plates takes about a week, so plan accordingly, or take advantage of the international shipping option. Despite this minor detail, I absolutely recommend this experience—Esra is incredibly kind and talented, and I’d love to come back!

Esra was very welcoming and explained everything we needed to know about ceramic painting. We shared the session with just one other person, which made for some lovely conversations. Even my not-so-artistic boyfriend managed to create something he was proud of! Keep in mind that the firing process takes a few days, but Esra offers an international shipping option if needed. It’s a fun activity I’d definitely recommend.

Esra Hanım is a wonderfully skilled and kind ceramic artist who guided us every step of the way. She shared her knowledge with us while making the process enjoyable through her warm conversation. We selected our colors, added personal touches to traditional motifs, and with her guidance, produced impressive results for our first attempts. It was such a delightful experience, and we can’t wait to do it again soon!
