One important note: the workshop is located on the Asian side of Istanbul. The guides made the journey easy by taking us there via metro, but it’s good to factor in the travel time when planning your day. My children, aged 6 and 8, had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was calm and child-friendly. It was a bit unexpected that the workshop wasn’t near the meeting point. That said, there are a couple of things to note. The workshop itself is in Üsküdar, not Fatih—Fatih is just the meeting point. It would be helpful if this was clearly mentioned in the description beforehand, as it requires extra time to get to and from Üsküdar, especially if you’re not staying nearby. Additionally, it would be great if there were more staff available to help during the wrapping-up process. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our lamps to be packed, which was a bit inconvenient after the workshop ended. Overall, it’s a great experience, but these small improvements could make it even better. I still highly recommend it if you’re visiting Istanbul and have some extra time!

Beyza was an amazing hostess! She was so friendly and took the time to teach me about the history of mosaics as well as other fascinating aspects of Turkish culture. The treats she served, including cookies, Turkish delight, and drinks like tea and coffee, made the experience even more enjoyable. I truly felt welcomed and had a wonderful time with her. It was a lot of fun, and in my opinion, you definitely get great value for your money, especially with the electric lamp you create as part of the experience. It's a fantastic hands-on activity that leaves you with something unique to take home!

Everything was excellently organized. We had two options for arrival: either come to the location yourself if you're already in Uskudar, or meet up at Hafiz Mustafa Sirkeci where we were picked up and taken to the location together. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and had a short wait, which was comfortably spent in their café. Once the workshop started, Mustafa explained everything in a clear, calm, and very friendly manner. He was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly open-hearted, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Even though we started as strangers, by the end of the workshop, we felt a connection with the others in the group. Help was readily available whenever needed, creating a supportive atmosphere. Sure, you could buy a mosaic lamp, but making it yourself adds so much more value and gives you a unique experience. Highly recommended! I will definitely return.
