The Cappadocia: Goreme Hot Air Balloon Flight over the Fairy Chimneys was one of the most fun and memorable experiences I’ve had in a while. It was thrilling and exciting, definitely worth the price. At $95 per person, it’s a great deal, especially with transport to the site and a full hour-long aerial tour over the stunning region, complete with canyons, hills, and homes below. Plus, you get a tote bag of snacks and a celebratory sparkling cider toast at the end. A perfect bucket-list experience!

Additionally, the person who came to pick us up at the hotel seemed a bit lost, and we spent over 10 minutes on the side of the road before finally making it to the hot air balloon. When I reached out to the service provider on WhatsApp, they stopped responding, even though they could have just declined my request.

The activity was incredible—definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The only thing that could be improved is communication. My activity was initially scheduled for 6:15 a.m., but the night before, it was changed to 7 a.m. They said they tried to call me, but I was on a plane, so they only emailed the update, assuming I’d check my emails while on vacation. Also, keep in mind there’s a high chance of cancellations due to weather, so if you're traveling to Cappadocia just for this, plan an extra day or two.

When we booked, it said we’d be picked up at 5:40, but we were notified the night before that it was changed to around 6:35. We were a bit worried about making it in time for our 9:25 tour, but thankfully, we were back at the hotel before 9:00. We almost considered canceling, but we’re so glad we didn’t! The balloon ride was warm due to the burner, but it got pretty cold after landing. They also offered printed photos for 300 Turkish Lira. The hotel pick-up and drop-off were seamless.
