Overview

Join on a memorable journey from Marmaris to the stunning natural and historical wonders of Dalyan. This full-day excursion is carefully designed to offer relaxation, adventure, and cultural discovery, all while showcasing some of Turkey’s most beautiful landscapes. From rejuvenating mud baths to ancient tombs and the pristine İztuzu Beach, this tour promises an unforgettable experience.

Our adventure begins early in the morning with a comfortable and scenic drive from Marmaris to Dalyan, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away. We travel in a modern, air-conditioned bus to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable journey. As we approach Dalyan, you will be greeted by lush greenery, the famous Dalyan River, and the serene atmosphere that defines this charming region.

Upon arrival, our first stop is the Dalyan Mud Baths. This unique spot is renowned for its natural thermal mud pools, rich in minerals that are believed to rejuvenate the skin and provide therapeutic benefits. Spend an hour here covering yourself in the nutrient-rich mud, allowing it to dry under the sun before rinsing off in the thermal waters. Not only is this an enjoyable activity, but it is also a great way to relax and embrace a unique wellness experience surrounded by nature.

After enjoying the mud baths, we will gather for a delicious lunch, which is included in the tour price. A variety of traditional Turkish dishes will be served, providing a delightful taste of the local cuisine. Please note that beverages are not included and can be purchased separately.

Following lunch, we board a traditional riverboat and begin our scenic tour along the Dalyan River. The boat cruise takes us through a maze of tall reeds and calm waters, offering a sense of tranquility that feels like stepping into another world. As we glide through the peaceful canals, keep an eye out for the rich birdlife and the untouched beauty of the surrounding landscapes.

Our next highlight is a stop in front of the ancient Lycian Rock Tombs that are carved into the cliffs above the river. Dating back to the 4th century BC, these stunning tombs are an incredible example of Lycian craftsmanship and serve as a powerful reminder of the area’s historical significance. Here, we pause for 15–20 minutes to allow time for photos while your guide shares fascinating insights about the history of these tombs, the ancient Lycian civilization, and their cultural traditions.

After admiring the rock tombs, we continue our journey down the Dalyan River to the renowned Iztuzu Beach, also known as Turtle Beach. This 7-kilometer-long sandy beach is a true natural wonder, situated between the Mediterranean Sea on one side and a freshwater lake on the other. The unique geography and breathtaking views make İztuzu one of the most spectacular beaches in Turkey.

Iztuzu Beach is not only famous for its beauty but also for its role as a protected nesting site for the endangered loggerhead turtles (Caretta Caretta). The beach serves as a vital conservation area where these ancient creatures lay their eggs during the nesting season. Visitors are encouraged to respect the natural environment, ensuring the preservation of this pristine ecosystem.

Here, you will have approximately 1.5 hours of free time to swim in the crystal-clear waters, relax on the golden sands, or simply soak in the stunning views. Whether you prefer the gentle waves of the sea or the calm waters of the lake, İztuzu offers a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else.

After our refreshing swim at Iztuzu Beach, we board the boat once again for a leisurely ride back to Dalyan. The return trip takes approximately 40 minutes, offering one last opportunity to admire the natural beauty of the reeds and riverbanks. As we arrive in Dalyan, our private bus will be waiting to take us back to Marmaris.

The journey back provides a chance to reflect on the day’s experiences, from relaxing in the mineral-rich mud baths to exploring ancient history and enjoying the pristine Iztuzu Beach. By the time we return to Marmaris in the early evening, you will have created memories to last a lifetime.

Today was such a lovely experience from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel without any issues. Our host Demitri was amazing so warm and funny he really made the day special. We visited the mud baths and really enjoyed them each type of mud had a different purpose which was interesting. Lunch was also very tasty. The highlight of the day was the boat ride Demitri shared lots of interesting facts about the tombs and even the crabs we had the option to try the crabs for an extra cost and they were delicious if you like seafood. My personal favourite part was turtle beach not only did we get to see the turtles but we also fed them leftover crab. Demitri explained everything about the turtles and their eggs on the beach and answered every question with such detail he was honestly fantastic. This tour has truly made our holiday extra memorable and the price is very reasonable. We all had a brilliant time and big thanks to the whole crew. I’d recommend this trip again and again.

Dimitri and Sunny were nice guides full of energy knowledge and fun throughout the day. The boat ride was a highlight especially feeding the turtles with blue crab. We also enjoyed the mud baths which were super relaxing and even had time for a fish spa which was a fun surprise. Lunch was delicious and we had enough time to unwind on the beach and go for a swim. Everything was well planned from start to finish the coach was comfortable and the refreshment breaks were timed just right. This tour gave a lovely look into the natural beauty around Dalyan and the tombs were honestly stunning. Really appreciated the whole day and would recommend it without hesitation.

Best day from start to finish. Feeding the turtles was such a cool moment. You really can’t beat the value either. Booking was simple they handled everything and even came to our hotel to collect payment and hand over the tickets. £20 per person for an 11 hour trip is a real deal. This was my second time booking with them and I’d recommend them without hesitation.

We booked the afternoon before and everything went smoothly. Got the pickup time confirmed within an hour. The next morning we were collected right on time at 8:30 and met Dimitri and Sonny who were both brilliant. They knew their stuff and were happy to help with anything we needed. We started with a coach ride to the mud baths. Didn’t quite know what to expect but it turned out to be a fun experience with plenty of time to enjoy it. Lots of laughs. Lunch was on the lighter side but still tasty and well prepared. Drinks were fairly priced with soft drinks at 100 lira and beers at 200. After that we switched to river boats where we saw the tombs and some amazing views. Got the chance to hold a live blue crab before heading to Turtle Beach. We spent about an hour and a half there and saw two turtles several times which made for some great photos. Had a nice swim too before taking the boat back to meet the coach for our return. All in all a great day out and nothing to complain about. Big credit to Sonny who was leading our group he was fantastic. Didn’t get to spend time with Dimitri as he was on another boat. If I had to mention anything it would be the length of the coach ride which took around two hours each way including a 20 minute break. Not really something that can be helped but it might be good if the tour info made that clearer upfront. That way if it’s quicker it’s a pleasant surprise.

This day was full of fun and memorable moments from beginning to end. I really felt like I got to take part in something unique. It all started with some time to unwind at the mud baths followed by a delicious lunch that hit the spot. Then came the boat ride where we got to see the Carian rock tombs which were seriously impressive. Turtle Beach was our next stop and it was just as beautiful as I hoped. True to its name we even got to feed wild turtles which was a real highlight. Big thanks to our guides Dimitri who gave us so much insight at each location and Uzay who created a fun atmosphere and kept everybody laughing. An incredible day overall I’d definitely recommend it.

Dimitri and Berat were fantastic throughout the day really knew how to guide and keep things interesting. We got picked up from our hotel around 8.20 in the morning. The coach ride took about an hour and a half with a short stop halfway. First stop was the mud baths where we had plenty of time to enjoy and relax. After that we had lunch right next to the baths which was a nice setup. Then we crossed over to hop on the boat and started cruising down the river. Along the way we heard some great stories and learned about the tombs carved into the cliffs. At one point we got to try blue crab which was a cool experience. We held on to the shells since they help attract turtles at the next stop. We continued along the river until we reached Turtle Beach. That day we were lucky and saw quite a few turtles near the jetty. We didn’t go out onto the beach itself but there was a café, toilets and changing areas there. We stayed under the shade on the boat and watched the turtles come up from the water. We arrived back at our hotel around 6.45 in the evening so it was definitely a full day out but absolutely worth it.

Incredible value for what you get. Sunny and Dimitri were brilliant guides full of knowledge and made the whole trip really memorable. Honestly didn’t expect so much for the price. The package included transport to the site, entry to the mud baths, a river cruise out to Turtle Island, a meal, and then the ride back to our hotel. Back home you wouldn’t even get dinner for one at this price. Don’t skip this if you get the chance. One tip***check the weather before you go. Even though it was 29°, the breeze on the river made it feel a bit cool. A shawl or light jacket might come in handy on the cruise.

What I liked most was how everything flowed without feeling rushed. Sonny had this natural way of making everyone feel at ease. The mud bath felt strange at first but surprisingly calming after a while. While we were cruising I turned my head and suddenly saw a giant turtle swimming right beside us. That quiet moment stuck with me the most. The company really delivered more than expected everything was well thought out without feeling too polished.

Feeding crabs to the turtles was something I’ll always remember. It’s a full day out but absolutely worth the time. Big thanks to Eric, Sunny and Dimitri for making it so enjoyable.

The scenery along the river and at the beach was beautiful throughout. The mud bath was surprisingly fun and left my skin feeling refreshed. We were picked up from our hotel without any problems and met our guides, Sonny and Dimitri. The drive up into the mountains was calm and relaxed. We had a short 15-minute break on the way. Depending on your group size, you might travel by coach or minibus. Both Sonny and Dimitri were full of useful information and explained everything well. Our first stop was the local mud baths, which had three different types of mud and a mineral pool. I tried the one that helps with sunburn. There are showers to clean off after, so it’s a good idea to bring a towel and extra clothes unless you don’t mind drying off naturally. After the mud baths, we had a light lunch with meatballs, rice, and salad. Drinks were available to buy. Next, we walked to the river and got on the boat heading toward Turtle Beach. Before the boat ride, we saw a live blue crab up close and even had the chance to hold it. You can also buy crab to eat during the ride and keep the shells to feed the turtles later. At Turtle Beach, we had about 1.5 hours of free time. You can relax at the local café, but they don’t serve alcohol. Drinks are also sold on the boat at good prices. Before leaving, throw your crab leftovers into the water, and you’ll likely see the turtles pop up. Overall, it was a very relaxed and enjoyable day. I’d definitely suggest it if you’re visiting Marmaris or nearby.

Picked up on time by coach the journey took about 2.5 hours with a short rest stop halfway. The mud baths were a fun experience, instead of soaking in a tub, you scoop the mud from large urns and rub it on yourself a unique and messy laugh. We had a tasty lunch right after, then crossed the road to hop on riverboats. On the way to Turtle Bay, we paused by the ancient Lycian tombs, where our guide Dimitri Antonov shared interesting stories in both English and Russian. We also had the chance to try fresh blue crab (400 lira), which was surprisingly good. At Turtle Bay, we stayed on the river side to spot the turtles, feeding them crab shells such a cool moment when they came up close! Just across the river was a peaceful beach where people could swim. The ride back was smooth and we returned to Marmaris by 7pm. Both guides, Dimitri and Sonar , were fantastic friendly, informative, and clearly loved what they do. Booked through Mares Travel Agency excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Our guide, Sunny, was extremely helpful and approachable. He always made me laugh with his jokes, which had everyone laughing throughout the tour. Mares Travel is a trustworthy and well organised company. I booked four excursions with them during my week-long holiday. They provided all the necessary details and were very organised. You have the option to pay in advance or on the day of the tour. Honestly, their prices are the most competitive compared to other tour companies. I’m really glad I met an English guest at my hotel who recommended booking through Mares Travel.

Lovely day. I took my 9 and 12 year old and they were very excited to see the turtles. We bought the blue crabs for lunch and later got to feed the turtles at Turtle Beach. The guides were really informative and full of energy. The only downside was that I did not know the mud bath was at the start of the day. We only wore swimwear and beach dresses. It was quite cold on the boat trip because it was covered. I wish I had brought a hoodie or dry clothes. That was my own mistake. My tip for others is to bring something warm if you go in April because it is still a bit chilly.

Great day out with Dimitri who was very entertaining informative and knowledgeable. We stopped at the mud baths for a short break. It was not long enough and more time was needed. We took a lot of photos because the scenery was stunning. Lunch was basic and standard but tasted good. The mud baths were pleasant and we just wished we had a bit more time there. At the end there was a small drop off issue. We stayed at the Green Nature Resort and Spa but got off at the Green Nature Diamond Hotel. We only heard the Green Nature part so that was more our fault than theirs. Our guides were amazing. Demetri was a very interesting and energetic guide. He shared stories about the area and made the coach journey feel shorter. We only saw two turtle heads. It is a popular place so a lot of people were on the boardwalk trying to see them. That is not the tour operator’s fault. The photos were amazing and the price was good. We got high quality pictures in a nice frame book for only 10 euro. They were the best pictures we had during the whole holiday.

We booked this after reading the other reviews and it did not disappoint. We were picked up from the hotel and taken to the mud bath. During the drive we were given a lot of information about the area and its history. They also explained what to expect during the day. The mud bath was a great experience. It was very messy so I would suggest taking a second bathing suit to change into after. Then we had lunch and went to the boats. We were split into two groups. On the way to Turtle Beach we stopped at the tombs and heard interesting stories about their history and legends. We also stopped at the blue crab place. They showed us how to eat the crabs and let us hold one. We do not like seafood so we skipped that part. At Turtle Beach we went into the sea and had some food at the restaurant. We saw a few turtles near the boats before heading back to the coach for the return to the hotel. It was a great experience. We highly recommend doing this trip while you are here. The coach arrived on time although the air conditioning did not work well. The driver was good and our guide Dimitrov gave helpful information in both English and Russian. Good points: The mud bath was fun and lunch was basic but fine. The river cruise was enjoyable and offered lovely views. Bad points: Turtle Beach seemed more like a regular beach for sunbathing and I do not think there was any real chance of seeing turtles. We were offered crab to feed the turtles but it was mostly shell and quite expensive. When we arrived at the beach there were no turtles so we ended up feeding the crab to the fish. I would not recommend buying it. Overall it was a nice trip but the food was simple and we did not see any turtles. Avoid buying the crab.

Lunch was served at the same spot with a vegetarian choice available which we opted for. Our guide Dimitri was knowledgeable and kept the atmosphere enjoyable throughout the day. Of course seeing turtles depends on nature so it’s not guaranteed but the beach itself with its soft sand was wonderful. We booked the trip with Osman from Mares Travel. The sun loungers on the boat deck made the cruise very relaxing under the sun. I do wish we had a bit longer at the beach since the one hour we got felt a little short. Still we were lucky enough to see two or three turtles and I even had a chance to feed them. The mud baths were a fun part of the day and getting there on the small boat was entertaining especially with the music playing and the crew adding some waves to make the ride lively. If I had to point out one small issue it would be the lack of card payment options on the boats.
